This September I presented the animated worlds of the METECHROMATIC project in the city of Denver, Colorado. During the Silent Screen tour as part of the Supernova 7th Dimension (2022) Digital Animation Festival.

The works I am showcased here are part of my ongoing series of work titled “METACHROMATIC”: Meta–, (of creative work) referring to itself or the conventions of its genre; self-referential. –Chromatic, is any color in which one particular wavelength or hue predominates.

Chrominance, the signal used in video systems to convey the color information of the picture, is the new rebirth of the series. Using the same elements of crazed color schemes and patterns, the new works also find new life in textures and colored sky that rotate as if the sun was setting and rising, a dynamic range of movement like never seen before in the series.

The works have been influenced by the vast dimensions of the Internet, Digital Media as an art genre, and technology. Artists like Jonathan Zawada, Rafik Anadol, Victor Mosquera, Cameron Galley, and Jimmy Edgar to name a few have also influenced my work.

This phase in the series is part of the continuous video phase of the series. These works are animated directly on Maya and rendered out in image sequences. The proposed 1-minute video is a montage of 3 videos from the series.
